Workshop Paper Guidelines & Publication Opportunities

The following information outlines the formatting requirements, review procedure, and post-workshop publication prospects for contributions to the workshop. Please read carefully and ensure full compliance before submitting your manuscript.

1. Paper Length and Formatting

  • Page limits: Manuscripts should ordinarily be between 8 and 12 pages (inclusive of references, appendices, and any supplementary material).
  • Template: Use the latest official Springer Lecture Notes in Computer Science (LNCS) template. Both LaTeX and Microsoft Word packages are available from Springer’s website.
  • Layout requirements (selected highlights):
    • A4 paper size, two-column format.
    • Font: Times New Roman, 10 pt.
    • All figures must be embedded and include descriptive captions.
    • Ensure that all fonts used in figures are fully embedded and of sufficient resolution (≥ 300 dpi).

Submissions that deviate from the LNCS style or exceed the 12-page limit will be returned without review.

2. Peer-Review Process

  • Blind evaluation: Each submission will be assessed by independent reviewers drawn from the Programme Committee and external experts.

  • Evaluation criteria:

    1. Originality and Novelty – Does the work advance the state of the art?
    2. Technical Soundness – Are the methods rigorous and the conclusions justified?
    3. Clarity of Presentation – Is the manuscript well-structured and clearly written in fluent English?
    4. Relevance – Does the paper align with the workshop scope and themes?
  • Ethics and Reproducibility: Authors must disclose any potential conflicts of interest and provide sufficient detail or supplemental artefacts to enable replication where applicable.

3. Post-Workshop Publication Opportunity

A carefully selected subset of the best-rated workshop papers at ICSOC2025 will receive invitations to submit extended versions (remarkably revised and expanded by at least 30 %) for consideration in a special issue of the International Journal of Computer and Information Systems (IJCIS). Key points:

  1. Invitation only – Invitations will be based on reviewers’ scores, session chairs’ recommendations, and editorial board assessment.
  2. Additional peer-review – Extended manuscripts will undergo a full journal-level review managed by IJCIS. Acceptance at the workshop does not guarantee acceptance in the special issue.
  3. Timeline – Detailed dates for extended-version submissions will be communicated to invited authors shortly after the workshop’s conclusion.
